​Ama Tu Vecindad

​​Ama Tu Vecindad trabaja junto con familias de bajos recursos, hispanohablantes, para crear accesos a recursos, educación y apoyo que refleja las necesidades de cada familia.  Ayudamos crear comunidad y conexiones con eventos, entrenamientos, y actividades que reflejan las necesidades y intereses de familias y su comunidad. 
Ama Tu Vecindad works with low-income Spanish speaking families, providing families with education, support and resources based on their unique needs and strengths.  We help create community and connections through events, trainings and activities that reflect the needs and interests of families and their community

  • Información y materiales sobre el desarrollo de los niños de todas edades.

  • Abriendo Puertas- clase para familias con niño/as edades 0-5.

  • Clases y programas para familias y niño/as- Grupos de niños/as, yoga, Zumba, jardinería y mas.

  • Entrenamientos: Primeros Auxilios de Salud Mental en Español y Ingles

Food 
Pantry

Our Food Pantry is open Monday through Wednesday from 10 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 3 PM.

 

Clients can visit once a month. No appointment needed!

 

Join us in supporting your neighbors through volunteering or donations. 

If our food pantry hours don't work for you, visit one of the other pantries in our community.

Mamas and Little Ones Support Circle

Every other Monday, we offer Mamas & Little Ones Support Circle in partnership with United Indian Health Services. This welcoming space brings pregnant and parenting families together to connect, share experiences, and build community. Families can also access drop-in lactation support as needed.

 

Join us twice a month to receive free, drop-in lactation support, connect with other Native families, and learn more about community resources as you navigate parenthood. 

Circles on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 10AM-12 PM at The Center.

Mental Health First Aid

We offer Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid Training in Spanish and English. 

Mental Health First Aid gives you the skills to recognize when someone is facing a mental health or substance use challenge--and the confidence to be their first source of support. Contact us to schedule a MHFA training for your team or group.

On the Verge 

Supported by Elevate Youth California, our teen and youth leadership development programs provide youth with leadership skills training. Teens and young adults meet over several months to design and deliver a project centered on Substance Use Prevention. 

We are currently accepting applications for our next Teen Cohort. 

You should apply if you...

• Are developing your leadership skills
• Are wanting to build relationships with other leaders from marginalized communities
• Are working on a project to prevent substance use disorder* in youth

• Are interested in developing leadership skills to better yourself and your community
• Have interest in and/or a commitment to collaboration
• Are willing to make a commitment

The $50 Study 

  • Developed in partnership with Building the Roots of Upward Mobility | The Rooted School Foundation, the $50 study will provide direct cash payments to local high school youth for the 2026-2027 school year.

  • This pilot program will be offered to a selection of 50 McKinleyville High Seniors
